6-Day South India Trip Itinerary

(Kodaikanal – Madurai – Rameshwaram – Kanyakumari)


Day 1: Arrival at Kodaikanal & Sightseeing

  • Morning: Arrive at Kodaikanal Road Railway Station and transfer to Kodaikanal (approx. 2 hours).

  • Check-in to hotel and freshen up.

  • Afternoon sightseeing: Coaker’s Walk, Bryant Park, Kodaikanal Lake (boating & cycling), Silver Cascade Falls.

  • Evening: Leisure walk around the lake and local market visit.

  • Overnight stay in Kodaikanal.

Day 2: Kodaikanal Sightseeing

  • Morning: Visit Pillar Rocks, Moir Point, Pine Forest, Guna Caves.

  • Afternoon: Explore Dolphin’s Nose, Vattakanal Falls, and Poombarai Village Viewpoint.

  • Evening: Relax and enjoy the serene climate.

  • Overnight stay in Kodaikanal.

Day 3: Kodaikanal to Madurai (Approx. 3.5 Hours) & Sightseeing

  • Morning: Check out and travel to Madurai.

  • Afternoon sightseeing: Meenakshi Amman Temple, Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace, Alagar Kovil.

  • Evening: Visit Gandhi Museum or enjoy the local shopping.

Day 4: Madurai to Rameshwaram (Approx. 3.5 Hours) & Sightseeing

  • Morning: Travel to Rameshwaram.

  • Evening visit to Ramanathaswamy Temple and Agni Theertham.

Day 5: Rameshwaram to Kanyakumari (Approx. 5-6 Hours) & Sightseeing

  • After breakfast, visit Dhanushkodi, Ramar Patham, and Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple.

  • Afternoon: Travel to Kanyakumari.

  • Evening: Sunset view at Kanyakumari Beach.

  • Overnight stay in Kanyakumari.

Day 6: Kanyakumari Local & Departure

  • Early morning: Witness Sunrise at Kanyakumari Beach.

  • Visit Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Thiruvalluvar Statue, Gandhi Mandapam, and Kanyakumari Temple.

  • Afternoon: Relax at Triveni Sangam and View Tower.

  • Evening: Drop at Kanyakumari railway station.
