Day 01 – Madurai Local
Sightseeing
Pick up from Madurai Junction After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing:
- Meenakshi Amman Temple – A 2,500-year-old masterpiece of
Dravidian architecture, dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi and Lord
Sundareswarar. Known for its towering gopurams and intricate sculptures.
- Alagar Kovil – Ancient Vishnu temple set in the
Alagar Hills, famous for its Chithirai Festival.
- Palamudircholai – One of the six abodes of Lord
Murugan, located amidst serene greenery.
- Thirupparankundram Murugan Temple – A rock-cut temple and one of the
oldest shrines to Lord Murugan.
- Thirumalai Nayak Palace – 17th-century palace built by King
Thirumalai Nayak, showcasing Indo-Saracenic architecture.
- Gandhi Memorial Museum – Preserves rare photographs and
articles related to India’s freedom movement and Mahatma Gandhi.
Overnight stay at Madurai.
Day 02 – Madurai to
Rameswaram
After breakfast, check out and drive towards Rameswaram.
En route visit:
- Uthirakosamangai Temple – Famous for the emerald (Maragatha)
Nataraja idol and its ancient legends.
- Pamban Bridge – India’s first sea bridge, offering
breathtaking views of the ocean and fishing boats below.
On arrival in Rameswaram, check into hotel and take rest. Evening sightseeing includes: - Ramar Patham – Believed to be the spot where Lord
Rama stood to view Lanka before the war.
- Agni Theertham – Sacred beach for ritual sea baths
before entering the Ramanathaswamy Temple.
- Boating Experience (optional) – Enjoy a serene ride with
coastal views.
Dinner and overnight stay at Rameswaram.
Day 03 – Rameswaram Local
Sightseeing & Departure
Early morning (5:00 AM) visit:
- Spatika Lingam Darshan at Ramanathaswamy Temple – The crystal
lingam brought from Kailash by Hanuman. 22 Wells Theertham Bath –
Each well has unique-tasting water, considered spiritually purifying.
- Main Lingam Darshan – One of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India.
Return to hotel, rest, and after lunch visit: - Panchamukhi Anjaneyar Temple – Dedicated to Lord Hanuman with a
unique five-faced idol.
- Lakshmana Theertham & Seetha Theertham
- Dhanushkodi – The ghost town washed away by the
1964 cyclone, known for its scenic beauty and mythological significance as
the starting point of the Ram Setu.
- Gothandaramar Temple – Associated with Vibhishana’s
surrender to Lord Rama.
(Optional) Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam House – The memorial home of India’s former President and “Missile Man.”
Evening drop at Rameswaram Junction for departure.
